Sunday Drive –Yackandandah

This year is going to be a very busy year for us, so every opportunity to spend time with our kids, we take it. The time that we spent in our business is the time we cannot take back to watch our kids grow and as a family this is important to us too. We decided to visit our friends Jim and Rachael from Yackandandah today.

Before we reached their place we stopped at yack’s town center, it’s not big but there’s a unique shop we found, a shop full of buddha stuff, we found two antique shops and a few coffee shops as well. I snapped a few shots:

There’s a few closed shops but it looks like they are selling antiques like the other two we found, the street was spot less, they have a small supermarket and there was a flier that says they have a cinema in town. After getting some drinks and bits and pieces from the supermarket we head off to see Jim & Rachael.

And here’s a few from their place:

That is their backyard, not bad huh? And I took some textures for myself, it’s good to have them, they come handy if you need some textures in photoshop not that we use them on our wedding, but you never know when you need one.

I think I got carried away and started snapping more while Rachael and Kerrie is preparing our food, this is just around their yard.

After eating we went to a water hole just around the corner from their property.

The kids had fun swimming and swinging on the rope. Although the trip was short and simple it’s one of these days that we cherish because it’s a day that we spend with our kids and watch them being kids. We know that we didn’t and not going to have many Sunday like these because of what we do, this is what we sacrifice, this time that is for us, is priceless. We would like to thank Jim and Rachael for their hospitality and hope to see you again soon.

This post is for young families out there who are in this line of business, please take that opportunity if you have to be with your kids because sooner than later you will realize that they have grown so fast and you have missed a lot. Yes, we have to love our clients but they too have a family and sure will understand that like them we have to spend time and love our own.

If you have been to Bright (that’s the name of the place, they must have a lot of bright people there) and had lunch or dinner in an Italian restaurant, your meals that you ate was cooked by Chef Frank. Today I met him and Melissa his bride to be. Pretty funny couple I say, I asked them what do they do for fun? they replied: WORK! and I said welcome to the club. We walked around the block and captured some funny, silly, quirky and happy shots. I’d love to share some really funny ones but Melissa might kick my bum for doing so.

Here’s a few from their e-session:

Watch this space as I will be capturing their wedding day in a few weeks.

When a bride includes you in the list of people they thank on their speech plus share the funniest moment of the day to everyone, you can pretty much say that you have made their day special and unforgettable, it’s a relief when they do. It makes the driving home easier.

Here’s a few frames I have selected from Brendan and Danielle’s wedding day. There’s a moment I captured which became our inside joke but I think I’ll keep this blog post rated PG.

To Brendan and Danielle, thank you for having me as your photographer to capture your very special day. And as for their guest, thank you for believing in me when I said I was a stand up comedian I only look funny as you all know but I’m not a comedian. peace!

The weatherman had said the night before Heavy rain & thunderstorms… we were praying for a miracle……  when i pulled out of the driveway the rain had already started….  the heavens had certainly opened up… nevertheless the show went on.  Karlie, what a stunning bride, wore the most beautiful shade of baby pink i have seen, (what a lucky boy Caleb is) When i first met Caleb & Karlie i thought they were such a lovely couple, but after photographing their wedding, & getting to know some of their families, its very easy to see what great people they are & surround themselves with… I learnt a few new things about Caleb & Karlie too on the day that i didn’t know before, its amazing how much 3 little words ‘under the wing’ can make so many people laugh hysterically! (that one is for you Caleb)

They are so in love, and i know ( you know how you just know) that Caleb & Karlie will be together forever! anyways,.,, back the the wedding ..  amazingly, like someone was watching over them, the rain stopped as Karlie walked down the isle with her parents..Caleb was speechless as she got closer…  the look on his face said it all……. took a while to get his vows out (and a few boxes of tissues later), We went on to do the formal photos, the weather couldn’t have been better, cool weather, dramatic skies, no sun… what more could a photographer ask for?  we got some awesome photos… and the location certainly helped. Thank you so much Caleb & Karlie for entrusting me on your wedding day, i had a fantastic day and we got some pretty good images too. xx
